IELTS YouTube channels and educators

Best IELTS YouTube channels and online teachers

Channels and teachers whose IELTS lessons we reviewed and chose for Stride's video library — what each one covers and who it suits.

By Stride team · Published 15 October 2026

YouTube is full of IELTS advice, and it's hard to tell which channels are worth your limited study time. This list is a shortcut: every channel here is one whose lessons we watched, reviewed and chose for the video library inside Stride, so you can start with teachers whose lessons are clear and specific to the IELTS test.

It isn't a ranking. Different teachers suit different learners: some explain Writing Task 2 step by step, others focus on Speaking strategy or Reading technique. Use the descriptions and the skills each channel covers to pick two or three that match what you need, rather than trying to follow them all.

How we chose these

This is an editorial selection, not a ranking. Every channel listed is one whose lessons Stride reviewed and chose for the free video library inside Stride; we kept channels that focus on IELTS and whose videos we featured. Channels are listed by how many of their lessons Stride features, then alphabetically — that order reflects our library, not a judgement that one teacher is better than another. Channel names, official links and self-descriptions were checked on each channel's official YouTube page on 15 October 2026. We haven't checked paid courses that some creators sell, and subscriber numbers aren't shown because they weren't verified.

Stride is our own product; it isn't included in this list.

Figures checked on 15 October 2026.

How to learn from IELTS videos without wasting time

  1. Start from your weakest skill. Take a timed practice test first, then watch lessons for the skill or question type that cost you the most marks. Watching everything is the slowest way to improve.
  2. Watch, then do. After a lesson, try the technique straight away on a real practice task — a Task 2 plan, a True / False / Not Given set, a Part 2 cue card — while it's fresh.
  3. Check claims against the official rules. If a video says something about timings, word counts or scoring, check it against the official format on ielts.org or our exam format guide.
  4. Be wary of shortcuts. Advice that promises a band score from a single trick is a red flag. The marking criteria reward consistent accuracy, range and clear organisation.
  5. Get feedback on your own work. Videos explain technique; they can't tell you what's wrong with your essay or your speaking. Pair them with practice that gives you feedback.

Practise what you watch

Stride's video library brings lessons from these channels together by skill, next to practice tests that mark your work. You can try the techniques on a free Writing task with an estimated band and feedback, or practise Speaking with a cue-card timer.

Is this list a ranking?
No. Channels are ordered by how many of their lessons Stride's video library features, then alphabetically. That reflects our library, not a judgement that one teacher is better than another.
Are these channels free?
The videos are free to watch on YouTube. Some creators also sell courses; we haven't reviewed those.
Why isn't Stride on the list?
Stride is our own product, so we don't include it in lists of third-party resources.
