Privacy policy

Stride helps you prepare for IELTS. This page explains what we store, why, who helps us run the service, and how to remove your data. It describes how the product actually works today.

What we store

• Your account: name, email address and a securely hashed password (we never store your password itself).
• Your preferences: exam type (Academic or General Training), target band and exam date.
• Your practice: answers, written responses, Speaking transcripts, scores, feedback and Coach conversations.
• Billing status: your plan, renewal dates and the last four digits and brand of your card, as reported by our payment provider. We never see or store full card numbers.
• Referral and creator attribution: who invited you, if anyone, so rewards can be credited.

Speaking recordings

Your voice recordings stay in your browser so you can play them back. They are not uploaded to Stride. Only the text transcript of your answer is saved and used for feedback.

Who helps us run Stride

• Anthropic processes your written answers, Speaking transcripts and Coach messages to produce feedback and estimated bands.
• Lemon Squeezy is our payment provider and merchant of record. It handles checkout, billing and receipts.
• Resend delivers account emails such as email confirmation and password resets.
• YouTube serves the video lessons. Videos are embedded in privacy-enhanced mode and play from YouTube.
• Our hosting and database providers store the data described above.

Cookies

We use a session cookie to keep you signed in. If you arrive through a friend's invite link or a creator's link, we set a cookie for up to 30 days so they can be credited when you sign up. We don't use advertising cookies.

How long we keep it, and deleting it

We keep your data while you have an account. You can permanently delete your account and everything in it from Settings → Privacy → Delete account. If you have an active subscription, cancel it first so you aren't billed again.
